Professional economists who specialize in Finance are trained at the Faculty of Finance. They can major in Public and Municipal Finance, Financial Management or Banking. There is also a Bachelor degree program in Economics, and a Master program in Economics (with a concentration in Public and Municipal Finance).
The period of study is 5 years for all the full-time students regardless of their major except for the graduates of the Academy postsecondary schools who take a 4-year accelerated course.
There is a program at the Faculty that is aimed at the tertiary degree holders. They can major in Finance and concentrate on Financial Management or Public and Municipal Finance. Such students study for 3 years.
In their final year, all the Faculty students have to have a period of on-the-job training in different companies where they can get employed after graduation. The Academy does its best to form good business ties with the companies that can provide internship opportunities for the Academy undergraduate students.
The Faculty graduates work for governmental institutions, i. e. the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, Federal Treasury, other Federal Services and Agencies, as well as banks, production companies and sales businesses.
