Kudrin, Deputy Chairman of the RF Government, Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, at a Meeting with the Teaching Staff, Administrative Staff and Students of the Budget and Treasury Academy of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation Held on 15 September 2008.

Dear first-year students,
Dear instructors,
Today is the first day of the new academic year. My congratulations! I congratulate the first year students on the right choice of the profession! The country needs highly-qualified financial experts who can address and solve complex financial and monetary policy issues. The fundamental knowledge gained during the period of study in the Academy will help you become the true experts who can address complex economic problems. Many of the Academy graduates will become staff members of various departments of the RF Ministry of Finance. In their work they will be guided by experienced practitioners and will acquire skills needed to professionally deal with the complex issues related to financial, fiscal and tax policy, community life and budget funding issues. Now you should be proactive, work hard and show integrity and interest in studying the disciplines chosen in order to become the first-class professionals the country can rely upon. The Academy is adding new programs to the list of the programs on offer. A new Faculty has been added to the list of Faculties that are formed in the Academy. It is a Faculty of Management. It is planned to open one more Faculty at the Academy, it is a Faculty of International Economic Relations. It is also planned to change the official status of the Academy and turn it into a full-fledged University. These are the advantages of the education institution that you have been enrolled into and where you will spend the unforgettable period of study before entering the professional life where you will have to act independently. Many of you will become staff members of various departments of the RF Ministry of Finance. In your work you will be guided by experienced practitioners and will acquire skills needed to professionally deal with the complex issues related to financial, fiscal and tax policy, community life, budget funding issues, etc. A financial expert’s profession requires good level of knowledge. There are many interesting aspects to the job of a financial expert too. I wish you success! Congratulations!
